NYACEP Conference Opportunity

NYACEP is holding a conference for leaders in practice management on 5/8/26, which is a good opportunity for senior residents interested in Administrative Fellowship. AOA Mini-Grant Opportunity

Apply for an award for research or scholarly projects through AOA. You do not need to be a member! Priority will be given to projects that include elements of leadership, professionalism, and teaching. Please reach out to Dr. Kaushal Shah if interested. Cornell Logistics Updates

Weill Cornell Outpatient Retail Pharmacy will be temporarily closed beginning 4/26/26, expected to last for approximately 1 year. Several neighborhood pharmacies will be able to accommodate outpatient prescriptions in the meantime.

Roles in Trauma Activations: EM will be primarily responsible for managing airway/procedures on odd days and leading the trauma on even days. Please notify the chiefs of any conflicts.

In an effort to decrease door-to-needle times:

- Ensure ED provider bedside for stroke activations

- Discuss TNK candidacy with Neuro and Pharmacy before transport to CT

- If TNK Candidate, ED provider should accompany patient to CT

Columbia University Chapter of AMSA is inviting residents to a student-doctor luncheon 4/26/26 from 2:00-3:30pm to speak about their experience in Emergency Medicine. Please reach out to the chiefs and Oz if interested!

NY ACEP Committee Applications

Applications are now being accepted for leadership positions on New York ACEP’s Emergency Medicine Resident Committee. Interested committee members should submit a short (less than one page) description of why they are interested in the position and what they plan to bring to the committee to nyacep@nyacep.org by 4/30/26.

Humanism in Medicine Event: 

Airway is an open-mic storytelling event on 4/28/26 at 8:00 pm. Founded in 2015 by EM physicians at Maimonides Medical Center, doctors are invited to share personal experiences from medical practice. See flyer for more info.

Women’s Health Collaborative

Please join Women’s Health Collaborative, a multidisciplinary group within the Cornell Emergency Department dedicated to advancing women’s health. The focus spans Clinical Operations, Education, Administration, Research, and Social Support to improve care delivery and strengthen support across the department. Meetings will be held monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 1:00 PM on Zoom, and all are welcome including Faculty, Residents, APPs, RNs, Pharmacy, Social Workers, and other team members.

Shout outs:

Shout out to Ulcha Fergie Ulysse for catching a critical read of active renal hemorrhage before the radiologist notified the team, expediting definitive care for this patient in the IR suite. Patient is now awake, alert, extubated, and s/p a successful procedure!

Shout out to Sarah Rosselli and Brittany Bienemann for an intubation on a patient who arrested in VC lobby, who is now awake and following commands!

Shout out to Rhea Bhargava for expertly inserting a difficult central line during a code despite many obstacles!

Shout out to Eli Rogers for receiving SAEMF / RAMS Resident Research Grant - $5,000 and Recipient of The David E. Wilcox, MD, FACEP and RAMS Resident Research Grant Endowed Scholarship - $1,250 "Assessment of Ambulatory Cardiac Monitoring in Syncope and Presyncope"
