Social EM Opportunity

The Armory Foundation invites healthcare professionals to participate in White Coat Day at the Nike Armory Track & Field Center. The event allows CityTrack Little Feet athletes (ages 7–13) to interact with medical professionals through fun track activities to build positive relationships with healthcare before they face medical visits.

Humanism in Medicine Event

Airway is an open-mic storytelling event founded in 2015 by emergency physicians at Maimonides Medical Center where doctors share personal experiences from medical practice. The evening features storytelling, music, and refreshments. For more than a decade, Airway has promoted reflection and humanism in medicine through storytelling events across the country. See flyer on the right for more info.

Ultrasound Opportunity

Need: POCUS instructors for Cornell's MS4 Transition to Residency course.

  • Tuesday 4/14/26 12:30-3pm and 2:45-5pm. We're teaching cardiac, lung, FAST, US-guided PIV placement. Will be @ Cornell Sim Center

  • Email Sophia Lin (sol9005@med.cornell.edu). US APT earn APT points!

Ultrasound IV Guidelines

To minimize infection with US IVs and be compliant with CDC guidance:

Use only single-use gel packs labeled sterile for IV placement

  • Cornell: 20 mL gel packs in clean supply rooms in Areas B and C

  • LMH: Surgilube packs. Availability of the 20 mL gel packs is pending.

  • Columbia: Surgilube packs in IV carts. Will inquire about 20 mL gel packs.

Tegaderm or probe cover (but Tegaderm adhesive can damage the probe)

  • Apply gel to probe, apply large Tegaderm or probe cover over gel, then apply sterile gel to the Tegaderm/probe cover (or hand/wrist portion of a sterile glove)
